North Baldwin - power restored about 5:30pm yesterday. cable internet phone restored about 3pm today. if any ladies (and their family) need a hot shower, some milk, clean drinking water or a place to charge up phones and lamps let me know!

Smithtown - near Watermill / King O'Rourke area for perspective - came back on at 1am Thursday morning 11/1/12 (really late Wednesday night as it was 1am)
Parents are in Nesconset - somewhat near the Smith Haven Mall - still have no power.
Sister is in Nesconset also but somewhat near Little Vincent's - but closer to Smithtown Blvd - she NEVER lost power!!!
In-Law's are in Smithtown - up near Garden Grill just North of the Smithtown Library - they still don't have power.
Interesting how we can all live so close to one another and have different experiences!

**Official Power Restoration Thread** (location & when it came back)
Anyone that had power restored....were there any downed trees in your area? I feel like until they clear the trees on my block there is no hope for power....

Anyone that had power restored....were there any downed trees in your area? I feel like until they clear the trees on my block there is no hope for power....
there were downed trees but we all sawed the ones that were blocking the street and moved them from blocking the street so vehicles could get in and out. I don't think a tree is what took out power though because we lost it at 5:30am tuesday and even my neighbors agreed...at the time we lost power there were no strong gusts of wind or trees that fell.

That's actually a great point. We lost power at 5:30 pm on Mon and there were no trees down at that point, as far as I know. That's a bit encouraging LOL

Merrick (north of Sunrise west of Merrick Ave). We got power around 5:30 tonight. I have tears in my eyes for the poor people suffering out there. I wish there was more that I could do to help.

. Holbrook we never lost power but the streets across the way and behind us are still out. But I did see LiPa trucks behind us today so hopefully soon!

There was a specific tree that fell on the power line that took out our power, but it wasn't blocking the street.

Those in levittown who got power back..where are you located? My parents are in Levittown and still have no power. They are elderly and its supposed to be really cold this weekend..

DH's business is in Lynbrook just north of Sunrise right by the train station. They got power back at about noon today.

Not really. There were a few on people's lawns etc- but nothing in the streets and our lines to the houses are buried anyway... so when we went down it was due to the main power lines going down - or a breaker or sub station,etc
I don't think our power loss was tree related- and it did come back very fast, so that may be why

The number of outages in Levittown kept going up (instead of down) until this morning. My entire area is out- we are off of Jerusalem, north of Hempstead Turnpike.

Where in Wantagh? We are in north wantagh right off Seaford oyster bay & still out. I'm desperate, might make a 7 hr trip to my parents bc its cold in here & I lost over $2k in freezer food.
The w section. Close to MacArthur HS.
