Soo how many points is a slice of pizza? From what i see its 5 but I feel like that is too little!
I think the 5 pts is for something like Dominos, that most of the country probably considers pizza.
For a NY style pizzeria slice, I think it's more like 10 pts a slice.
If you are eating it at home, you can weigh it in grams and then look it up on etools by weight (you can usually put in the exact weight in grams for the etools entries for various foods). I did that recently - I had a slice of a large NY style pie -- and it was just a thin-crust plain cheese pizza, and I came up with 10 pts.
I think that makes sense because the low-cal personal frozen pizzas (like Lean Cuisine) are always about 9 pts or so.

OFFICIAL WW 2013 THREAD
I'm excited to have found this thread! I've never even been on this board before! I just joined WW online this past Sunday, and just came on here today. So far, in my first week, I'm finding it tough but definitely doable. Can anyone recommend filling, but low-point snacks? I'm a big snacker!

Welcome! The first week is definitely the toughest because you are both learning the program/point values of things, and because your body is adjusting to smaller portions. But it gets easier!
Most of my snacks are things that satisfy one of the good health guidelines and are more nutrient dense, but some things I eat just when I want something sweet or a treat, not necessarily to curb hunger.
I think good snacks are:
Fruit or fruit salad or fruit smoothie (sometimes I have a little reddi whip on berries or cut up fruit as a dessert, and it's either zero or 1 pt, depending on how much you use)
Veggies - salads, roasted or grilled veggies, raw veggies dipped in salsa or hummus
Lite baby bell cheese rounds or string cheese (I like to eat these with an apple or pear)
Yogurt, esp. Greek yogurt
cereal or oatmeal
Almonds (just watch portions)
Special K cracker chips
Hard boiled egg
1/2 sandwich on high fiber bread (most lean deli meats like turkey/ham/roast beef are 1 pt for 3 or 4 thin slices)
I make a lot of homemade muffins with white homemade flour for 3 or 4 pts each (check out Emily Bites blog for good recipes)
I like pre-portioned ice cream treats -- beyond WW brand, there are a lot of individually portioned items/brands that are low in points. Trader Joe's has mini ice cream cones dipped in chocolate for 70 calories (2 pts each) and mini cookie mint ice cream sandwiches, for example. And Blue Bunny makes a birthday cake flavored vanilla ice cream sandwich that's 3 pts each.

Yes, I also need patience for my slow weight loss too! But at least the scale us going in the right direction!

its 7 points for an 18" slice(NY style), if its from a 16" pie id count it 6, anything like dominos is 5 points.... add an additional point for 2 slices to make it 15

Ugh.... Used 1/2 my extra points and racked up at least 40 activity points. So frustrated. On to next week. Hope everyone has a better week!

Keep your head up. I am new to this but I am sure there are weeks like this for no real reason. I am sure next week will be a great week for you.

Re: OFFICIAL WW 2013 THREAD
I just wanted to write this to help encourage people a little. I started ww about 2.5 weeks ago after having a baby. The day I decided to join NONE of my clothes fit me. My jeans I couldn't even pull up over my tush! I was so depressed...it was either join ww or buy a new wardrobe. Well today 2.5 weeks later I can wear my jeans I wasn't sure how much it would take to fit in them again but it wasn't much and I am so happy. WW works! and it really hasn't been too hard! Keep with it everyone

Any gain is always disappointing, but .4 really isn't so bad. It could just be that you ate something salty the day before or didn't use the bathroom before weighing in!
I just had a .6 lb gain last weigh-in, after weeks/months of straight losses (even after a vacation!). So it happens. It's just a blip in the long run, and you can take that .4 off and then some this week!
One thing I would add - I wonder if you would have a bigger loss if you were eating more of the extra points. If you racked up THAT many activity points (and didn't eat them at all), and only ate half of the extra weekly points, I wonder if you did eat enough to see a bigger loss. I know people have to experiment with the weekly points, because everyone is different, but for me I do much better if I use them, and if I use them in spurts (rather than just add a few points to my daily total). Just something to think about....
