Oh man! I just discovered the birthing ball and...
its seriously amazing! I had been using the ottoman to our glider but my neighbor had a yoga/excersize ball that she lent me today. Its soooo comfortable and easy to bounce/rotate on it. I can feel the difference in my pelvis already.
loooove it!

i'm going to wait to hear what my dr has to say tomorrow at my appt - i may be stopping at TJ Maxx on the way home to grab one of them myself.

girl you NEED to get one of these things! I can literally feel him pressing more on my pelvis while im on it.
Good luck tomorrow at ur appointment though

I used that during my 54 hours labor!!! It was awesome.. you can sit on it when having contractions (it helps to open up your hips) Or I would lean on it and roll forward when contracting...

nope, its basically an excersize ball. I'm sitting on it with my legs open wide and bouncing up and down or rotating my hips. Pre-labor its supposed to help move the baby down into your pelvis. During labor it can be used to ease the pain of contractions.
I cant remember who it was, but I distinctly remember reading a post from an LIFer who was actually sitting on her birthing ball while on the computer and her water actually broke!

I definitely recommend it. I used one while I labored at home with my first son and it helped so much. I really think it helped me get through the contractions and got things moving down there.

That was ME!!!
I was on the computer doing stuff (LIF probably!) and got up to use the bathroom after about sitting on the thing for close to an hour. I went to pee, wiped (tmi), went to get up and then GUSH!!!!
TRUST ME, IT WORKS!!!
ETA: I was sitting on the exercise ball instead of my usual office chair.

Yup I have one at home and I love it! I was going to bring it to work to use as my chair. They say it can help bring on labor as wel when you bounce on it?!

I knew I remembered it working for someone on here! I think it also worked for Denise (BnBDreamin).
Were you just sitting on it normally, or were you bouncing or rotating on it??

haha are you...i was really considering bringing mine to work and my boss even offered to buy me one for here I should have taken him up on it but figured I wouldn't need it...now I wish I had it here!

We asked a long time ago here at work if we could bring them to our desk - for workout purposes - strengthing abs, good posture - but we were told NO. It's not OSHA compliant.....
