Ok, let's countdown...THREE MORE DAYS
and my MIL leaves. I've only seen her for 24 hours & it's too long.
On Sunday morning, the kids wake up at 6am for breakfast. She got up made them breakfast. She told me to go back to bed & that she'd handle it.
By 6:30am, she knocked on our bedroom door & said "They're done with their breakfast. We have those big cookies from the diner left over, can they have them?"
Um, Noooooo.....
***???!!!! Dessert AFTER breakfast???
Later we went to my mom's for dinner.
There was a slight moment of tension where my mom said something & I responded to something about dinner. MIL chimes in with "If I were you, I'd smack her." She was "joking" of course.
So I said "Just to be clear, if either of you smack me, you're both getting hit back"
DH glared from across the table. Yup, that's right not only do I have a sharp tongue, but I don't take kindly to being smacked by your mother - and won't hesitate to take her down in front of the grandkids.
Please, please find a time machine & set it to fast forward.

You should have ditched her and come over to our house. My MIL was over for an early Mother's Day celebration... she's a doll, I am so lucky.
