No matter how good a sleeper your baby is, they wake every 3 hours to eat at that age unfortunatly. Thats the hard part where you get no sleep.

Thats not true. All 3 of mine slept great from the DAY they were born. My second baby actually woke up only once and slept from 10 pm to 10 am.

None of my babies woke up every 3 hours, not even my DD that I BFed.

I actually would wake up my DD 2-3 times a night for the first couple weeks and make her eat because my boobs hurt and I was too tired to pump Chat Icon

wow!! I have never ever heard of a baby sleeping through the night at day one. I was under the impression it was physically impossible for a newborn as they can starve without eating frequently... And all 3 of them did. You have good genes Chat Icon Or got lucky...Chat Icon Maybe the O/P will get lucky too.

Brooke was over 9 lbs at birth and was 13 lbs 3 ozs at 1 month. She wasn't going to starve if she skipped eatingChat Icon

Re: ok moms, tell the truth

My son is almost three months and I am still dealing with sleep dep. He wakes up EVERY night to feed at 2-3AM. Then he sleeps until 4:30-5 and feeds again. Then he wakes up at 6-7AM and is up for the morning. It is tough and I am praying for the day that he sleeps through the night.

Re: ok moms, tell the truth

The first few weeks was hard, but managable. DD got up every 3-4 hrs to eat. So if I put her down by 9pm for the night, she was def getting up by 12am or 1. and then so on...

After 7 wks, she finally slept thru the night Chat Icon

With DD...the first 3 months were really, really tough. The combination of colic, being a 1st time mom, no help...Chat Icon Chat Icon

Will DS...only the first month was bad. I'm not going to lie, getting up every 2 hours gets old really fast. There were some days I'd cry because I was so tired. BUT....like everyone says, it gets better. Sleep when you can...take help from anyone who offers. Chat Icon

Re: ok moms, tell the truth

I want to add that even good sleepers like I have can get crazy when they're teething.

DD woke up at 3:00 screaming her head off last night and could not be consoled. Chat Icon

She also woke up at 4:00 and then 5:15. Then of course, she was willing to sleep for as long as I let her, but unfortunately I had to be out of bed at 6:15 for work.

Chat Icon I'm only functioning at 60% today. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: ok moms, tell the truth

I am in the minority because so far for me it has not been that bad. I would nap when he napped and even in the beginning he would sleep 4-5hrs at a time
