Ok, name some songs that make you teary eyed...
I sometimes need to feel sad. Don't ask why, I just do, it's cathartic, so I'm in search of some tear-jerker songs for my iPOD. I'm a dork. I know this. So far I have: Daughters by John Mayer (gets me everytime) Isn't She Lovely by Stevie Wonder (it makes me cry everytime!) Crash Into Me by DMB, which is surprising given how much I hate them. Only the Good Die Young by Billy Joel, do not ask my why this makes me cry, but it does
I need more. I feel a good cry coming on in the next few days

Re: Ok, name some songs that make you teary eyed...
I Could Not Ask For More makes me cry every time I hear it. That's unusual because I typically don't get emotional about a song unless I have some sort of attachment or memory about it. I have none whatsoever with this song, yet it gets me every time.

Re: Ok, name some songs that make you teary eyed...
MOSTLY italian music for me (sorry ) just brings back too many great memories.... everything from oldies but goodies, to dance music, pop music, kids music, ballads, duets, etc.
Some songs that have been mentioned: DEF Tears in Heaven. Many Billy JOel songs, something about him. Elton John
and for some reason dont laugh Pomp and Circumstance yes graduation, gets me all choked up. I was in a school when they were practicing. and I just got a vision of my boys in those seats, and my eyes were buckets and of course their nursery and preK graduations. its just such a milestone song. how cant you get choked up.
Almost all patriotic songs get me choked up.
ok thats enough for me.

Re: Ok, name some songs that make you teary eyed...
There are a few "olidies" that get to me:
"What Becomes of the Broken hearted.": reminds me of my mom, it was playing on the radio in the hospital one of the last times I saw her. It haunts me to this day.
"My Way" by Frank Sinatra. I think of my dad.
"The Long and Winding Road" by the Beatles. In my opinion, one of the most heart-wrenching songs of all time!!!!!
