Okay, belated pics and review of Troy's First Birthday Party--from May 18! (Warning: Photo Overload!)
Not sure if it's because I have been too lazy to upload pics or just I was plain old lazy-but I never posted pics/review of Troy's 1st Birthday Party....so.... here you go!
Thank you to Aeriell (Twinboys425) for lending me the tents- they came in quite handy! The forecast was for passing showers-but even though the day started with sunshine, it literally showered ONLY DURING the party. Oh well, the show went on. Also, thank you to all of Troy's LIF friends who came to the party! It meant so much that you all made it, despite the weather!
Food: FIL, DH and ME! Had traditional Argentinian Barbeque (skirt steak, chicken, sweetbread, sausage, etc) American BBQ (burgers/dogs), baked ziti, macaroni and cheese, lettuce salad and potato salad. I also made sangria (red and white) and swear I was the only one drinking it  .
Entertainment: Adrenaline Entertainment
We had a clown and Elmo. FABULOUS. It was tough b/c we had to do everything under a tent, but it still went well. Most the kids loved Elmo, except my niece, poor thing was TERRIFIED! The clown did face painting and balloon animals-everyone seemed to be very happy! We also had (per DH's wishes) the castle bouncer and slide-despite the rain, it did get quite a bit of use! MIL (in her INFINITE wisdom  decided to "throw" Troy and niece onto the bouncer-they both HATED it and screamed! My niece -14 mos at the time-was so scared she wouldn't even walk by it!)
Cake: BJs. Hello, the BEST $20 I spent! SO glad I did not get the bakery cake I was originally going to get! Also had the "big" cannoli from Dortoni Bakery (one filled big cannoli and 40something "fill your own" shells). Sorry to the guests who left before the cake/cannoli.
I guess that's about it. A note to anyone planning an At Home party and doing the food themselves--If you think something will take 15-20 min, plan at least 30 for it. There were a bunch of last minute little things I thought would be quick and they weren't. Also, delegate as much as you can! I wish I had done more of this.
Troy had a great time-Elmo and clown wore him out! He took a 2 1/2 hour nap, after cake of course!
