Re: Okay, DH just shocked me and I'm freaking out...
OK I've lived in Chicago for 7.5 years. The only thing that Chicago has on NY is that it is much cleaner and not as big. The only thing keeping me here is DH. He wants to stay around bc his parents are older.
The bright side is that it has 2 of the top business schools here - Northwestern and Univ of Chicago. He could go to school for 2 years and then maybe transfer back to NY.
My biggest problem with Chicago is how segregated the city is. There are lots of ethinic groups but they are all concencetrated in various parts of the city.

To celebrate, they are offering a $36 introductory fare from JFK to Chicago O'Hare (each way) if you book by October 27. This intro fare is for travel January 4-February 15.
For full details and to book directly through JetBlue Airways, click here: http://www.travelzoo.com/Newsflash.asp?265040
That will be some great competition for Southwest....I've been able to come home to NY on Southwest for $39/each way.
