Older DC waking up when babies wake?

Older DC waking up when babies wake?
If you have an older DC who sleeps through the night, did the babies waking up during the night wake him / her? This is my fear...my older DS and the new babies room are next to each other. The way my DS's bed is now is up against a wall where a crib will be. I'm wondering if he will wake up when he hears the babies or if he will get used to it and go back to sleep...he will be almost 4 when they come along. I can't imagine the babies waking up plus him...I already told my DH that the 3 year old will be 100% his responsibility during the night when the twins are here....

My older DD has never woken up when they were up during the night. For awhile the twins were in with us (right next to DD's room) and she always slept through it.

DS never woke up when the twins were NBs. But I do have a sound machine in all of their rooms to help drain out other noise.
