Older moms 35+....Q
I had DD at 37 (2 days after my bday)...we definitely want to have a 2nd & ideally a 3rd. I had the best pregnancy & no issues w/ DD--no amnio, pleasant pregnancy (besides a 36 hour labor & then a CS).
If you had DC later in life or are now 35+ & are considering more children, how many would you like to have?
At what point do you feel you "shouldn't press your luck?"
Comments/thoughts?
ETA: DH definitely wants a 2nd but his thoughts on a 3rd right now are "we'lll see what happens after #2".

Re: Older moms 35+....Q
I am 35 now and have 2 and I always said I would have 3. Although baby #2 is really making me rethink that statement - he is such a high maintenance crabby baby. Age is not a factor in my decision. Although I hate the fact that I will have to be faced with amnio and such decisions should I have a third in a year or two. I know family and friends who had children in their early 40's and all is well - I just say if it is meant to be it will and don't worry to much about the age number.

Re: Older moms 35+....Q
I'm 39 and am currently expecting my 2nd child in May. Even if I were younger, I don't think I'd try for a 3rd, but that's more for financial reason...daycare is expensive!
My first pregnancy was great and ::::knock on wood::::: so far this pregnancy is going just as good.

Re: Older moms 35+....Q
I am 40 (and gave birth shortly after I turned 40) and I am happy with one. I had a good and healthy pregnancy, I just don't know if I have the energy or desire to go through it again and have another. I haven't completely shut the door on that possibility, but I feel like it is unlikely.

Re: Older moms 35+....Q
I was 35 for my first and 36 for my second, and feel beyond blessed since they were both through IVF and we were lucky enough to have it work both times on the first try..so for us we probably won't push our luck for anymore..we are very content with one of each..

Re: Older moms 35+....Q
Cin, as you know DH & I are both 40+. Having one makes me want another, but I can't see myself pushing my luck or going through the anxiety of all the testing again. Especially since I wouldn't consider 2 under 2.

I'm 37 now I was 35 when I had my twin girls. If I had the means I would probably try again. Lots of woman are having babies "later" in life.

Re: Older moms 35+....Q
I'm soon to be 36. I definitely want a third, except I have a problem. DH doesn't want anymore I'm working on him, but at this stage of the game, since I will be 36 soon, I think it's my last hurrah.

Re: Older moms 35+....Q
Well, I was 36 when I had DD. I would like at least 1 more, I would prefer 2 more. I am now 38 and have been trying for my second for 14 months now. So, if it happens again for us, I'm afraid it will be our last since it is taking so long. I'm already feeling like I'm "pushing my luck" so I don't know if I'd be willing to push the envelope again. I'm already nervous enough trying for this one.

Re: Older moms 35+....Q
I am 36 now and pg with our second. This will be our last for me. Some of the issues I had with my first pregnancy that I was told were a fluke are starting to rear their ugly heads again and I don't think I can go through this again. I am one of 2 so I am fine with that, also I am not sure we could afford more.
