Growing up- we would wait for my father to get home from work to have dinner together. Dinner time was at 6pm.
Now- My husband and I have dinner at 7pm

I get home around 6:30. Between taking care of the baby & cooking.. I'm lucky if I have dinner on the table by 7:30 (Which is ideal for us). More so , we eat at around 8:15

Between 6 and 6:30 usually. I get home around 5:30 most of the time, so we can't eat too much earlier. Much later, and it starts throwing DC off schedule, since they have to be in bed between 8 and 8:30, and DS likes to have a snack around 7:30.
There is no "right" time. Whatever works for you, although eating too late isn't as healthy, unless you go to sleep later. You don't want to lie down to sleep soon after you eat.

we usually eat between 700 -730 bc dh doesnt get home until 7pm and i dont get home until 6, so by the time i cook its just getting done when dh is walking in the door

like to eat dinner at 6pm, any earlier would be hard as I am usually at work, but any later and I would be starving because I eat lunch at 12pm.

on averge, we eat aroun 8:30...but have eaten as late as 9:30 on a WEEKNIGHT.

It's usually between 730 and 830 - I get home late and do the cooking... Poor DH. He grew up with 6ish..

we usually both get home around 7-7:30 from work so i'd say dinner is usually 8-8:30, sometimes even closer to 9-9:30 if we end up staying later at work.
if i ate dinner at 6, i'd be hungry again at 9!
lunch is usually around 1 or 2 so dinner at 8 is fine with me.

We talked about it a settled on 6-6:30 as the time to aim for!
He's a truck driver and his day does start between 3-5AM (depending on his runs for the day) so i understand his wanting to eat early BUT on the otherhand he doesn't go to sleep till 9ish so no need to eat soooo early!

Between 7 and 8.... i am new to this whole cooking dinner game, so even the 30 minute meals still seam to take about 1 hour to make!
