Nay! Seriously unless you are diabetic and your insulin is dropping I'm pretty sure everyone will make it a 1/2 hour until they leave the store.

This is why I always end up with food in the grocery store. I don't know if it is the thought of the food or hunger but my blood sugar always drops at the store. I usually go straight for the cookies and YES I always pay for them.

I don't see a problem with it and I've done it before (if I've been running a ton of errands and all of the sudden realize I'm starving). It's usually just a 100 calorie pack out of the box or something to hold me over until I'm done.

i am guilty of this but only for my dd. we were shopping yesterday and she saw a yogurt and was hungry so i picked up the package of six, took one off and put the rest in my cart to buy. i did it b/c she was not cooperating and it was the only way i could get my shopping done.

I don't do it.
But if someone else does it, as long as they aren't fondling the grapes or whatever else is kind of 'open' and they pay for it, I don't even notice.

Seriously me either. I mean it would be one thing to see someone eating raw chicken down the aisle, but some crackers? It's fine

The only thing i've opened while in the store--i think was a bottle of water when i was in target from those fridges by their check out. it was effing hot as balls outside--and when i went inside i was thirsty....and grabbed a drink and had it while i shopped...but i definitely paid for it.

snacks itself--nope never have done that

same here. i sometimes grab a 20-oz soda from a fridge and drink while shopping, but always pay for it

I was half kidding...they'd prob only lop a finger or two off Chat Icon

I just don't know...if its discreet I don't notice but if some of you witnessed this couple breaking off bread from a loaf while they browsed, you'd prob be weirded out. I don't even know what it is about it that bothers me, it just does!

To me, I have seen much worse. People eating a falafel on the subway grosses me out WAY more. Now that should be punishable by a finger loppingChat Icon

I hope this doesn't sound snarky or rude, but I am curious and want to ask a question.

For those who get annoyed when they see people eating or drinking something that hasn't yet been purchased - why does it bother you what other people do? I mean assuming that they aren't making a mess and that they are paying for the item - what is the harm? Also - do you assume that when someone is eating a snack in the store that they they haven't already bought it? I mean - I often bring my own bottle of Poland Spring into the market with me - is that unacceptable also?

I think for me it's definitely more of a thing that i've seen half eaten half empty packages in stores. If you're paying for it of course its way better than that...

It's just one of those things with me. A pet peeve that I can't explain. Everyone has them and I guess this is mine. That, and bad spelling, lol as I mentioned in a long ago post.

There is also something gross to me about someone eating chips and they keep dipping their hand in the bag over and over while pushing a cart....can you tell i'm a little crazy?? Chat Icon

me too.

actually, I used to go to the bakery, get my delicious coffee, and then stroll down the aisle doing food shopping. I didn't buy it there...so it was already my property.

I will say though, that drinking and eatign are sorta different...you don't touch fingers to food to mouth to care to produce.

I open a bag of goldfish snacks for my DD while we shop, I wouldn't walk around eating if I was alone.

I don't think I've ever even noticed anyone doing this...other then when the deli man gives me a piece of cheese to taste while he slices the rest of the pound up :)
