OPK/Charting Yay or Nay?
Hi Ladies - Just trying to get a sense of whether I should take the plunge here. How many of you were trying without luck until you started doing one or the other and which would you suggest to be the more effective?
My plan was to go at this au natural because I didn't want to become to obsessed. Well, our first month I did - and I was obsessed anyway! Not sure what to do for month #2.
THANKS in advance to all of you who respond

Re: OPK/Charting Yay or Nay?
I don't think my choice was up there.
I tried naturally the first month, then moved to charting and OPK's for 2 months. I couldn't stand the OPK's - I could never read them. I invested in the Clear Blue Easy fertility monitor.
From using the monitor with charting I learned that I was a late ovulator, with a short LP. So I started taking B Complex vitamins to lengthen my LP, used preseed (I don't produce EWCM), and used the monitor with charting. I got my BFP 2 cycles after doing that.

Re: OPK/Charting Yay or Nay?
my choice wasnt up there - I went off BCP in April - but we werent TTC yet. I paid attention to when my ov cycle was, using OPKs - and noted the dates in the calendar.
Started TTC in august - at this point I felt pretty confident that I knew what dates I was ov - got pregnant that month.
I should also add that my cycle almost never changed in years - 29 days to a tee. I was very lucky to be so regular.

My choice isn't there either. I charted right after going off BCP to get a "feel" for my cycle. By month three off the pill, we were ready to start trying and got pg immediately. I also used OPKs.

Our choice isn't up there either.
We tried charting, but I have PCOS, so that was pretty much useless.
We had to go through IVF to get pregnant.

I didn't want to leave anything up to chance - I am all about doing research and doing everything I can to succeed quickly...so I used opks and preseed and charting the first month we tried and we got a BFP.

Re: OPK/Charting Yay or Nay?
I used OPK's (from the dollar store- they were great) for 8 months and got my first BFP and then had a m/c.
Luckily, I conceived the next cycle- even though the OPK said I ovulated 4 days after BD. Guess those suckers really live for a while

I voted the old-fashioned way as it best described how we got pregnant...really, I drank too much at a wedding, forgot to use protection and conceived a little angel.

Re: OPK/Charting Yay or Nay?
My choice wasnt up there. I used OPKs, I charted, I kept my legs elevated, I did everything I could think of. I believe it was the Clomid and the help of my RE and our IUI that did the trick.
Charting and OPKs def helped me though.
