OPK question that i SHOULD know the answer to
Hey ladies I feel funny asking this since i have already been down this road with DS, but when i got pregnant with him I was on clomid which can skew the OPK results. so , my question is, i took one today (CD11) which is VERY early for me to "O" anyway, it was a faint line, def. not a +OPK since it wasnt as dark or darker than the control line
what i want to know is, does that mean that it is totally negative and not even close, or could it mean that the line may get darker over the next few days and that ovulation is approaching??
TIA

Hey Laura, hard to tell. I've thought I was getting closer as it was getting slightly darker, but then it would get lighter again and then stayed light for days....it's unpredictable and I think the time of day you take it, how many hours since your last urination and how much you drank in that time period affects the result too. Go for the CBE with smiley lol No confusion there, just more $$! lol

Hi Laura!
I don't think it means that O is prevalent. I've been getting a light line since I started like a week and a half ago, and no O in sight.. getting p*ssed lol

Re: OPK question that i SHOULD know the answer to
i would keep testing, maybe even twice a day. My first month (and the month we got our BFP) on a thursday, I got what I thought was a positive on CD12. It was very close, could have gone either way. All the girls here said it was positive after I posted a pic. On CD13, I got a negative and then on CD14 and 15 I got positives with digital OPKs. I dont know what made me continue to test but I am glad I did.
I would say, maybe try the CBE digital OPKs? If we hadnt gotten a BFP last month, my plan was going to be to test with strips until I got what I thought was a positive and then retest to confirm with a CBE digital.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Re: OPK question that i SHOULD know the answer to
I've heard from others on this site that the color of the line is not an indicator of how close or far u r from Oing. All that matters is when the line is the same or darker.

Yes, exactly. You may get a light line one day, a medium the next, no line the day after that, etc. It won't necessarily get progressively darker as O approaches.
