I lost my engagement ring in my aunt's house two mos. after my now husband proposed, so I only got to wear it for a short time. My mother felt so badly about it that she gave me the engagement ring my father had given her when he proposed. although is was not the ring my DH had given me, I cherished it because it showed the love my family had for me as I mourned the loss of my ring.

Besides my son, I would have to say when my we moved from Jackson Heights to LI when I was 10 years old and we finally had a house. All I wanted was a dog and my parents surprised me and my sister with a puppy. Muffin brought us 13 years of joy!

The best gift I have ever received was my Nook from my parents. I am a huge reader but was SO skeptical of not having a real book with pages to turn and a real book smell. I am a believer now!!
ETA- Now I see everyone did mushy stuff like "My kids" "My family" "My engagement ring"... I guess I am materialistic

The best gift I ever received was on January 16, 2014, the day my husband survived his heart attack.
It is his new birthday, the day he got to live.

Besides my hubby and kids, I would have to say it was the first flowers my dh got me when we were dating for Valentine's Day.
They were a Carnation Puppy (puppy head made from carnations) in 1989 and to this day, on Valentine's Day I think of them. This was one of many flowers I have received from my hubby on Valentine's day as he always remembers to get them for me every year.
