oxford insurance and alimentum
Ethan is on alimentum and our ped wrote a long extensive letter explaining why he needs that formula. Oxford denied us! We are appealing and my ped told us that Oxford is becoming so difficult to deal with. I am wondering if others have gotten Oxford to cover the formula and if so what was done to help convince them. Thanks!

Re: oxford insurance and alimentum
We are in the same boat! DS has been on Alimentum (ready-made) since he was born in July and Oxford denied us as well. They want him to go through a barrage of invasive tests just to confirm he requires Alimentum. He already had the milk-protein test that confirmed he was alergic. Our ped also wrote a letter and that got us nowhere.
We have been out-of-pocket for almost 4 months and its adding up FAST
Its sad to say but at this point we have pretty much given up the fight. As first time parents we just don't have the energy/time to raise our son, work full-time, keep the house up & fight our insurance company. And I'm sure Oxford knows this.

Re: oxford insurance and alimentum
we're taking him to a GI doctor tomorrow. Apparently if a specialist writes the letter they are more apt to approve then from a pediatrician.
