Oyster Bay Town Hall & Toddler Q
So tonight at 7 we have to go to the Oyster Bay Town Hall to get our variances approved for our m/d build up. Our expeditor said to bring our 19m DS with us, because if they see you have a baby, they'll put you to the front of the line. He also said the whole process would take about five minutes.
My DS has been teething real badly, hence being a crank these last few days - especially near bedtime, screaming his little head off and I'm not sure I want to chance him doing that tonight. I do have family that can watch him, but they've never watched him before and I'm worried about that as well, because he's been so out of sorts. My parents of course want me to bring him bc it means there's a possibility we'd be out of their quicker.
So my question is: Has anyone ever gone to do this, with or w/o their LO? What's the process? Is it really as 'quick' as they say it'll be? I just want to get this all over with already.

Not Oyster Bay, but Town of Babylon.
DH recently went twice a couple months ago and was home within a half hour or so.
It seems like it's a 5 minute process and I don't think anyone really shows up to protest.

I do this for a living, I'm an expeditor also.
Bring the child, and have someone else there that can walk him outside if need be. You will get pushed to the front of the agenda and get out early if you bring him.
They do try to accommodate people with young kids and get them out quick...

Thank you for the response! I unfortunately will not have anyone else to bring with me, seeing as my DH and parents will already be there. So hopefully my DS will be behaved. They allow strollers, right? It seems a stupid question but I figure I should ask anyway

Re: Oyster Bay Town Hall & Toddler Q
My parents brought my kids there when they had an issue and it absolutely helped them. They were brought to the front of the line. The town ended up siding with my parents and changed something that others were opposing. It was almost a done deal in favor of the other side too. Now everyone is happier they went with what my parents wanted accomplished, but there was tons of fighting. What my parents and their neighbors accomplished is actually considered a model for future water issues and other town officials come visit.

Strollers are allowed. Since its a M/D you will have a bunch of people there so you will be able to wander around if you need to, until you are called.
The meeting is not in the Main Town Hall, its in the building behind it, first floor access and a big parking lot.

Thank you again!
It's confirmed, we are brining him in hopes of an early dismissal. Lol.
