Re: packing the hospital bag. have a question about undies.
I got some Hanes large granny panties. I liked having them a bit bigger because for the first 2-3 days you have the largest pad on in creation, I know I even had a chuck pad on the first day because of all the bleeding. It was a mess. It was nice having them larger because it could fit all that stuff going on down there and you don't want to be uncomfy at all. Also, I had a c-section so it was good that they went over my incision and the padding that was on that.

Re: packing the hospital bag. have a question about undies.
this is my first pregnancy, so I don't have any experience but from what I read from others- they should be larger. You will still be bigger and even if not, you will be wearing big maxi pads and everything. You want room for those plus to be comfortable and to keep pulling them on and off to change the pads. I heard most of your pants and underwear get destroyed and are basically garbage afterwards, so I would mix it up at least and bring a pack of bigger ones to be safe.

I had/have huge hanes grannies as well. I got awful hemmerhoids and was sticking bags of ice in my undies. That, plus huge pads.

Re: packing the hospital bag. have a question about undies.
I'm usually a 5/6 in Hanes/fruit. But I got a 9 in briefs and they are HUGE but perfect. I've been wearing them now and it's one of the only undies I find comfy. I thought they may have been too big at first, but nope. They weren't.

Re: packing the hospital bag. have a question about undies.
I wore small before getting pregnant, and had to go up to a medium while pregnant. I bought Hanes Bikin underwear for the hosptial in a medium when I had DS. They fit just fine. You do have to wear big pads though and you might want to buy Bikini instead of boy shorts.

Re: packing the hospital bag. have a question about undies.
Get a size larger and granny panties. You will have giant pads in there, ice packs, etc--you will need as much room as possible.
They'll get thrown out afterwards anyway.

Re: packing the hospital bag. have a question about undies.
I wore the disposable ones the hospital gives you while i was there (and took as many as i could home with me) because i just ruined them each time i pulled them down to change the pads anyway
when i ran out of the disposable ones, DH had to go out and buy me even bigger ones than i had originally thought. I needed ones that came up high enough to cover my belly because the weight of all the pads/chucks/ice packs etc in there was pulling the underwear down!

Re: packing the hospital bag. have a question about undies.
I was just wondering about this myself...so helpful! What's the best place to buy this type of undie? It's a silly question I know, but all of my undies are Victoria's Secret and are just starting to get really uncomfortable.

Target, Walmart, Costco. Get cheap fruit of the looms or Hanes. They are comfortable and you won't care if you ruin them.

How about getting depends that'll replace the pad and undie plus disposable all in one?

Re: packing the hospital bag. have a question about undies.
I ended up with a c-section after a failed induction and am so glad I got the granny underwear at the last minute. I didn't want anything that was cut near my incision especially at the beginning. Whatever you buy, get cheap pairs for the hospital and the first several weeks.

Re: packing the hospital bag. have a question about undies.
I would go with granny or bikini instead of boy shorts since you need to use the huge pads.
I bought bikinis size 7 for last time when I am normally a 6, and it was fine, but I may go granny this time. I get hanes from target. And my dr. said only wear white ones--somehow the dye can irritate you.

Re: packing the hospital bag. have a question about undies.
I got my regular size and just made sure that they were granny panties...cotton and came up higher --- and it worked out fine.
I don't know about you all but I hate wearing pads with baggy underwear! SO no extra big undies for me!!!

Re: packing the hospital bag. have a question about undies.
Buy a size or two bigger than what you'd normally wear. I bought a few different sizes because I wasn't sure how big I'd still be. Make sure they're the kind that sit on your natural waist (or where your waist used to be ). If you wind up with a cesarian, you'll want something that covers the incision.
