Paint Color- Kitchen and Dining Room

We just cut down the wall between kitchen and dining room to a HALF wall - so you see over it into the kitchen. Its not full open concept, but much more open. Seems like I should have same paint color through both kitchen and dining room? Anyone have pics of not doing same color?

We have a sun room off the kitchen and painted them different colors even though there's no doorway- the kitchen just opens up into the sun room. I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but it actually looks great. I don't have a picture though.

Paint Color- Kitchen and Dining Room

I have a half wall between my kitchen and dr and again between the den and the DR. So all 3 rooms are seen together; like semi-open. I knew the colors had to complement but not necessarily the same. I also knew I wanted a navy blue DR. So DR is navy blue, Den is grey and Kitchen is light blue, but going to be changed to teal. People tell us all the time that the colors work so well together. The navy in the DR (which is in the middle of the 3 rooms) serves as the anchor for the space.
