pajamas question for infants 3-6 mos
noah is not swaddled anymore. he is 15 weeks and sleeps on his belly. last night i put him in footie pjs and he did not sleep well. he seemed cold to the touch. i dont want to put a blanket on him b/c he scoots too much in the crib.
would it be overkill to do pjs with feet and a sleep sack now? i dont want to over heat him either!

I don't think so. They make light cotton sleeveless ones that aren't fleece. Maybe those would be warm enough.

We use the Aden and Anais sleep sacks- they're REALLY lightweight, but they definitely make a different in how my son sleeps!
ETA: Every night, we dress him in footie PJs and a sleep sack.

Jack is 4.5 months. He sleeps in footy pjs (cotton, sometimes light fleece) and I use a crocheted blanket. the holes are plenty big to breathe through if he covers his face with it

Re: pajamas question for infants 3-6 mos
DS is sleeping in onesie, footie pjs, and a merino wool sleep sack. I keep the window open a little in his room, fresh air helps him sleep better. He never overheats in natural fibers, and stays warm.
I plan to leave the window a crack open in the winter too, but I will get him a down comforter sleep sack (from etsy).
I'm not a fan of polyester fleece as I think it makes DS overheat and sweat. Its hard to know what to do, because when you put them down they aren't cold, but after a few hours of laying there they get a chill. So I feel like using natural fibers that allow breathability I can do many layers and he'll still be comfy.

Re: pajamas question for infants 3-6 mos
I'd say do the sleep sack if it's a little cool for him. When it was cooler out we used to put DS in footy PJ's and a sleep sack (when he was your DC's age). They will not sleep well if they are cold, but make sure not to overheat. Maybe get one of those devices that tell you the temp and humidity of the room. My sister got me one for my baby shower and it always helped us to properly dress DS because his room seemed to be a different temp than the rest of the house.

this is what we use on top of footie pj's - works just fine. dd's not overheated unless it's super warm out and it hasn't been warm enough for a few weeks now. before that, we still dressed her the same, but had the a/c on in her room to keep her comfy.

That's what I do for the boys. They are almost 4 months.

Re: pajamas question for infants 3-6 mos
DD is 13 weeks and hated being swaddled so about about 6 weeks we started putting her in the 1 piece sleepers or a gown and recently I have started putting a sleep sack over her Pj's.

Re: pajamas question for infants 3-6 mos
DD just sleeps in either long sleeved footed pajamas. The material depends on the weather. Come winter she will be wearing fleece ones. I am contemplating using the sleep sack since it is starting to get more chilly. I do use a thin blanket but tuck it in the sides of the crib which makes it difficult for her to pull it out.

Re: pajamas question for infants 3-6 mos
I was using blankets since day 1, I tucked, folded, made them super difficult to pull out, after a few mornings (and middle of the nights) found DS on the opposite side of crib and blanket bunched up in the corner, I gave up on blankets.
I think someone needs to invent adult sleepsacks, caush I sleep the same way and always wake up freezing. Its a good thing DH is a very solid sleeper.

DS sleeps with a onesie, socks, footed cotton pjs. When it gets cooler, I'll add the cotton or fleece sleep sack.
