Re: Pap while pregnant?

I had one at my first visit, when I was about 5 weeks, because I was due. It's common practice from what I understand.

Re: Pap while pregnant?

Thanks for all the opinions; I didn't realize it is as common to have a pap during pregnancy as it is. I will speak to the doctor about it.

It is HIGHLY unlikely that I have HPV and having spent the past 3.5 years in the Land of Infertility, I know am more nervous than most normal pregnant people.

Humm I dont know i would def Speak to the DR. Directly about that one cause I dont plan on having any pap done and i dont anyone who has had it done while Prego..

you should have gotten one with your first exam when pregnant. it's standard practice to make sure you're healthy.

Re: Pap while pregnant?

I had one at my first dr's visit being pregnant which was at 8 weeks.
Honestly, you have the right to refuse it or hold off until the babys born. I did that with my DD. They tried to convince me to have it but i had it after she was born. So if your against it don't be afraid to voice your opinion and stand your ground. It's your body, your right and ultimatly your decision.

Re: Pap while pregnant?

I was due for one when I was pg and they didn't do it for the exact reasons you mentioned. They said they would do after I had the baby.
