Yes absolutely!
We do cards, and usually get MIL flowers. Just a way to say "happy anniversary.

we give them a card and a gift... usually a gift certificate of some sort... and we will get together and have dinner for them, if they don't go away. next year I'd like to surprise them with a big party for their 50th! eta- for my in laws we do a card and gift certificate as well, but we don't celebrate with them.

i usually buy them a card with a small gift in it, do something bigger on bigger anniversaries
