I will not pierce Megans ears until she is old enough to ask and understand it.

Re: Parents of Girls

I got them done at 4 months... i loved little girls with earrings so i made the choice to do the same. My mother did mine around the same age and I never had a problems with them.

Re: Parents of Girls

We had them done when DD was 8-months-old. I just really wanted her to have them and saw/see no harm in it.

Re: Parents of Girls

We're waiting until DD is older, when she decides she wants them. To each their own, I think they look cute on babies, just not for us.

Nope- I don't really care for the look of babies with earring. If she wants them done when she's older she can.

Re: Parents of Girls

I don't have a girl yet (fingers crossed that we'll be blessed someday with a daughter) BUT my mom took me to get my ears pierced when I turned thirteen, sort of a rite of passage to becoming a teenager and she made a really big deal out of it. It made enough of an impact on me that I plan to keep the tradition for my family too.

Re: Parents of Girls

I got Hayley's done when she was 6 months old. She cried for a few seconds. She let me clean them and turn them daily and has never pulled on them. I went to the jewelry booth outside Build a Bear in Smithaven mall. (They did both ears at 1 time)

If this baby is a girl I plan on getting hers done too at an early age!!

NO, we are waiting until she is old enough to make the decision for herself. My parents did that for me, and I was old enough to appreciate them and care for them. That's the way we'll go.

Same here. I was 12 when I had mine done. My nieces were around 8. When she starts asking for it, then we'll think about it.

No, not until she is older and can ask for it herself.

I wanted to but now she is 15 months and there is NO WAY...I will watch her in pain at this age. I think she might have gotten through it at 3-4 months. I am waiting until she is at least 5 now.

I couldn't do it when they were babies/toddlers because they could potentially rip them out of each other's ears. At this point I will most likely wait until they are in kindergarden and make a big deal out of the event. Chat Icon
