parents watching DS issue- HELP
Here's the situation... Right now I work 4 afternoons a week and one of those days I go in early. On Mondays my mom comes over around 2:45 and watches DS until DH gets home at 5:30. Tuesdays I bring DS to MILs around 2:45 and DH goes there for dinner after work. Wednesdays I again bring DS to MIL around 2:45 and we all eat dinner there. Thursdays are my early day and I bring DS to my moms by 1:00 and I pick him up by 6:30. Here's the problem. I would NOT ask either my mother or my MIL to watch DS more than they already do, but I need to add another early class into one of my days- so either my mom or MIL will lose one day with DS and I will have to hire someone. I have no issue hiring a sitter for the one day, but both my mom and my MIL don't want to lose a day with DS. So I don't know what to do. Someone is going to be hurt and that's not my intention.

Can they switch the last day - every other week? That way it's not too much?

Re: parents watching DS issue- HELP
Have you looked for a sitter yet? Cause finding one for one day a week is difficult. THat doesn't help at all.... You have to decide what is best for you. I guess you have already discussed he situations with both sets of parents? MAybe one of them can offer a solution. Sorry for being no help. Switching off days sounds good though

Re: parents watching DS issue- HELP
They can't switch days because my mom helps in my dads office a few days a week and my MIL works part time. As it is, my mom worked around my MILs schedule since she has more flexibility. So unfortunately, that's not an option. My MIL mentioned that she "should" be able to get out of work on Tuesdays early enough to watch DS but I feel bad that she will then have to work all day long. Not to mention, that "should" is not enough of a sure thing.

My first intuition was to actually ask one of my friends who is a SAHM. A have quite a few and I would think one of them would be interested in making some extra cash. Not to mention that it would be like our kids were having a playdate anyway.

Re: parents watching DS issue- HELP
that's tough...but maybe by freeing up one of their days, they can take Luca for a few hours on the weekend?
