partial placenta previa?
Anyone hear find out that they had partial placenta previa in their early in their 2nd trimester? (This is when the placenta is low on the uterus. It can be somewhat common with twins) For those who've had this, did it move away as your pregnancy progressed and your uterus expanded? If it doesn't go away, the complications sound pretty scary. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or advice? I know to take it easy, and no sex! Thanks girls!

Re: partial placenta previa?
yes, i have it. They found it about a month ago and I've been monitored twice since then and it hasn't moved yet.
I'm on full pelvic rest in addition to no lifting, exercising, excessive walking, stairs, etc.
this is a good pic of what it is - i had family members that were confused until they saw this.

Re: partial placenta previa?
I had previa too, diagnosed at 20 weeks. I was just told to not lift anything heavy & no intercourse. I felt a lot of pressure, especially when I walked. I continued to work, etc.
Thankfully by 27 weeks the previa moved on its own. My ob said 90% of the time this is what happens.

Re: partial placenta previa?
I had this while pregnant with our first DS. It corrected itself as my pregnancy progressed and was gone by my 32 wk sono. While I had it, my doctor just had me limit certain activities and I couldn't fly. I hope yours corrects itself as well.

Re: partial placenta previa?
Thanks Shorty for the picture. I showed DH so he can see. It's starting to make sense to him.

I was diagnosed at my ultrascreen too and put on pelvic redt. I am waiting for my Level II in 2 weeks to see if it moved.

Re: partial placenta previa?
I had it and at 20 weeks was told it was a complete previa, but it moved by 25 weeks to be a low lying placenta, and by 28 weeks had completely moved. I never had any bleeding and had no complications at all with the rest of my pregnancy or delivery. I was on full pelvic rest from weeks 20-25.
