Passport renewal for SD?

Long story short we have a big family trip planned for the end of July to Mexico, for SD 16th birthday. Her BM has known about this forever. I snet her the parental consent forms to send back with SD next week, but get an email stating that her passport is expired. This comes after we have asked her multiple times throughout the year if it was valid, and she swore it was.

SD comes up next Sunday, and we know for a fact that her mother is not going to miss work and pay for the renewal, knowing that we need to have it.

My questions:

1. Can we renew the passport here? If so what do we need?
2. Can we have it mailed to our place, although her permanent address is in FL?

I have gone online, but keep getting conflicting answers. Thanks for any advice/suggestions.

I would call the Passport Center. It might take a while to get through to a live person, but I think that's your best bet for an accurate answer.

I'm not sure with a renewal. We just went through the whole process for both of my stepchildren and literally had to go get new birth certificates because their mom s*cks so badly! lol it was a long process but WORTH IT and we were able to get them shipped to our house. With that being said, i'm not sure about a renewal. I guess my whole answer doesn't help you. I'm sorry
