I wonder how many of you would change your opinion or attitude if you were in her situation. If you were kept awake and constantly annoyed by the noise around you.
No one gives a sh*t about anyone else around them anymore, do they? That's just sad. To not even try to compromise with a reasonable request.
I have the "suck it up and deal" opinion about a lot of things too. But I've done plenty for my neighbors and other people in my life to keep the peace.
What a selfish world we live in.
Fabulous observation.
From the day my nieces (ages 2 &3) started to walk, they understood what "no running at Grandma's" meant and have even learned to be considerate of "the lady downstairs."
But, then again, my infertility negates my opinion on such matters.

Re: People living about you
We had the same thing in our 1st apt. The 7 yr. old would tap dance at 7am (that was before kids and we were able to sleep past 6am-lol!).

Im sorry Gail that you have to go through this. CAn you just imagine if the shoe was on the other foot...and you and your Dh were making noise and annoying the neighbors with kids. I BET they would be complaining to you but God forbid you complain that thier kid/s are making too much noise.,,......

we were talking about that. would would have the child be a little quieter. i know it could happen. a woman at work has 3 young girls. when they start running she tells her girls to be quiet since people live below them

Re: People living about you
I am the person living upstairs with a toddler who doesn't sleep through the night.
The people downstairs have made it VERY clear that they hear every foot step made. I have a family with children living above me also, I hear everything, but, that is apartment life.
I am not going to tell my kid to stop playing because of the people downstairs. Just like I have not complained about the people downstairs yappy dog. It goes along with the territory.
