Personal question - 'bathroom time'
another topic on the home board got me thinking:
When you are in the bathroom (using the toilet, showering, washing your face, brushing your teeth, etc) do you allow your SO in there with you? Or, as another poster put it, "bathroom time = my time"?

Re: Personal question - 'bathroom time'
I was the poster who said that bathroom time = private time
I have 3 children who barge in on me CONSTANTLY, so any time I can get alone in the bathroom, is MY time. If I had to share my alone-bathroom-time with DH, I would hate it!!!

Re: Personal question - 'bathroom time'
We share everything else, so we have no problem sharing bathroom time. Like a PP said, even the dog follows us in there sometimes.

I always thought bathroom time = private time until DH and I moved in together and we only had one bathroom... sometimes he'd have to get in there while i was showering, etc. Then it turned into us walking in while the other was peeing... if it were up to him, he'd poop while i'm in the shower... that is where i draw the line... let me poop in peace!

If I am in the shower, brushing my teeth, getting ready, or even going #1, I have no problem with DH being in there or if the door is open, etc.
For #2, no way. lol.
If we're going out for something special, sometimes I prefer the privacy so that I can be all "done" when he sees me. Otherwise, it's fine.

Re: Personal question - 'bathroom time'
Well besides the fact that we have a 2 by 4 bathroom that we can hardly fit in alone, I still would NEVER let him be in there when I am doing "bathroom things." I just feel its my time and should remain that way. And actually using the bathroom...NEVER!!! Eww!

Re: Personal question - 'bathroom time'
we have 2 bathrooms, but one of them is other floor from our bedroom, so a lot of times when i'm brushing my teeth or something, he'll come in to get a Qtip or floss or whatever. that i don't mind, even if i'm in the shower and he comes in the grab something. BUT if i'm using the toilet for any reason LOL i don't want him bustin in on me

We have no shame! We're not always in there together, but sometimes if he's in the shower and I need to go, I go, and same with him

Our cat loves to be in the bathroom! it doesn't make any sense. He'll just walk in and lay down right near the bowl.

Re: Personal question - 'bathroom time'
We don't care, but I refuse to go in when DH is going #2. Other than that, the door is usually open and we don't mind being in there together.
