Pet/Preggo/Child question (cat)

We have three cats and live on the second floor with an inside staircase. Two kitty litters are downstairs by the entrance and we have one more in the kitchen.

With a baby on the way we registered for two gates. One for the stairs (obviously) and one for the kitchen doorway. I don’t want the baby to ever get in there since it would be too easy to investigate the clay litter box.

Here’s my question:
The staircase gate will go at the top of the stairs and it’s about thigh high. How can my cats get over that going down to or up from the litter boxes???

I am not too keen on them jumping over the gate and hoping they time it right to catch a step four steps down!!!

I don’t want them to stop using the downstairs boxes (it’s a great way of ‘evening out the load, if you get my drift).

There is no where else to relocate the boxes.

So, do they make ‘walk-through’ type gates with little cat flaps on it? Am I inventing something again?? I think if Dog owners with Cats wanted to keep the dog out but grant kitty access these types of gates would already exist. Do they?

put the gate about 4 inches up off the floor....the cats will be able to get underneath it, but the baby will not....

Our cats jump over the gate at the top of the stairs. Even the almost-18-year-old-devil-cat, Gunnar. There's never been an incident where they fell.
We actually replaced the gate with a door because they were jumping over it so often!
