Pet sitters for the holiday.. need advice
Hi Everyone..
I need some advice/help.. sorry if this is long, and I am hoping to be on these boards more often..
I hope someone can help or give some advice on what to do... I would like to start by saying that we have two kitties and live out-of-state from the rest of our family. For the Christmas Holiday, we are leaving Weds, and prob not coming back for a few days.. I feel so guilty as it is trying to figure something out for my kitties.. but, basically, we will be seeing family in NY from out-of-state that we only see twice a year (our nieces and nephews). With that being said, we are trying to make accommodations for our two cats. We have very generous neighbors who come for us when we go away for a day or two, but we will be gone for almost five days.
I am so upset about leaving them, these two cats are our world, and I could ask our neighbors, but we don't have anyone else in the area we trust. I feel bad leaving them to take care of the cats over the holiday for five days, 2x a day. I debated if I should bring them with me and they can stay at a family member's house, but it'll be a new place for them, and I may not be around 100% of the time.
We live in CT and I just want to do the best thing for my cats.. please don't think I jsut want to leave them, it's just right after Christmas, my IL's are having a party and it would make no sense for us to come back up here again.
Does anyone have any advice??? Thank you so much.
ETA: If anyone knows of a reputable pet sitting service up here in the new haven area of CT that would be great! even if we use them for a couple of days!

Re: Pet sitters for the holiday.. need advice
Why not ask your neighbors but offer them so $ to compensate for their time? Do you think they mind doing it? Also, you could give them a gift certificatge to go out to eat or something like that to say thanks.
Other than that, I don't have any suggestions but you obviously need to find someone to come look on them for that long.
