picky eaters

Can you list some of the foods (especially dinners) your kids eat.

So many people tell me that I should just serve what I serve and that's what they get. Even his OT is telling me this. It's just so hard to watch your child not eat and beg for something else!

Re: picky eaters

I try to serve one starch, one vegetable and one meat and hope my child will eat one of them when she is being picky. If she doesn't, i figure she will be hungry later and eat what she is offered. I also do tricks, like my daughter loves pasta so I will steam a mix of vegetables and then purée with tomato sauce so she is getting her vegetables. I steam spinach and put it on all her pizza. She loves crackers, so I put a lot on crackers. Sometimes it makes sense, i.e., tuna salad, some times not, I.e., pot roast. I throw some elbow macaroni in her bowl of chili so she'll eat it. I have a friend whose thin, athletic daughter was dx with high cholesterol at 4 1/2 after a long time existing on mac and cheese and chicken nuggets, so I am always nervous about relying on the easier stuff.

Re: picky eaters

I'm having a hard time with this too and now Noahs losing weight and I'm starting to get nervous again. He has ALWAYS been a picky eater. By 12 months he was 'over' many foods and began the super pickiness!

He will eat these now and not all the time.

Dinner-

chicken-plain with ketchup..maybe 2ozs if that, a few cut up bites.
a few french fries, sometimes not always
Macaroni and cheese- only Kraft
Chicken nuggets-almost always
meatballs-sometimes
bread or roll on occasion
Pizza
Thats it Chat Icon
No pasta, no veggies , no sauces, no cheeses etc.

Lunch-
mac and cheese
yogurt ( a few brands specific)
chicken nuggets

Breakfest-
Cinnamon swirl toast/plain toast with cinnamon on it
Yogurt
1/2 Plain bagel ( no butter, etc)
Cinnamon frozen waffles

Fruit-
Apples
bananas
sometimes blueberries
pears
Peaches
pineapple

snacks-
crackers
all sweets!! lol

Sorry so long, I wanted to partially write that out for me too. No one is really taking me seriously when I complain he is NOT getting enough essential things like fats ( from butters etc) ..

I read what others write and am insanly jealous. I wish he would try something..ANYTHING new.

We now say no dinner, no snacks and thats that.
