Placenta Previa/Accreta?
I went to the hospital today for my ultrascreen. The dr said everything looks great as fas as the sono went. She told me i have placenta previa which i knew from my 1st sono last month. She said we will have to keep an eye on it and hope it moves or else its not previa its would be placenta accreta. If that happens she said i would be looking at an emergency hysterectomy. This will be my 3rd c-section. Im so upset and freaking out, ive been crying all day. Has anyone expierenced this before? I just pray that it moves or does what its supposed to. They though my blood pressure was bad before they told me now its probably off the charts...

Re: Placenta Previa/Accreta?
I had an ultrascreen today too and the doc. told me I have a placenta previa too, but she said it can still move, because I am only 13 weeks.
Please don't worry and just watch for any bleeding and everything will be OK

Re: Placenta Previa/Accreta?
I had complete previa at my ultrascreen (12weeks) and my amnio (16 weeks), by 20 weeks, it had moved enough to be considered a "low-lying placenta" and by 24 weeks, it had migrated completely to where it's supposed to be. Try to take it as easy as possible (I know it's hard with other kids- my son was 18mos when I 1st found out), resting, not lifting, etc is supposedly helpful. Good luck.

Re: Placenta Previa/Accreta?
My guess is that placenta previa is more common in women who have had c-sections, and there is a danger of it turning into placenta accreta. I cannot think of a reason why you would need a hysterectomy if it's NOT placenta accreta, though... and if that's recommended to you, I would definitely get a second opinion

honestly i feel like your doctor shouldn't have said that to you. There is a small chance of that happening- like a 1% chance.
I'm a take it one day at a time kind of girl. I had it, i was on pelvic bedrest from 4 months-7 months. It did move and everything was fine. I wouldn't worry just yet. The percentages are high enough that most likely yours will move too!
I wouldn't worry until there's something to worry about. Until then.... one day at a time.

Re: Placenta Previa/Accreta?
Thanks Ali, the only reason why i started to get crazy over it was because she told me there was a 30-40% chance of it happening. I will definitely be resting alot and praying that it moves. Thanks again ladies!!!
