Planning a Superheroes themed backyard party for my 4 year old this year and need some ideas!
What kind of entertainment did you have for your backyard party? Did you get a bouncer/slide? I'm looking at approximately 15-20 3-5 year olds running around in my yard and I need to keep them entertained!
Thank you!

We do backyard parties for DS every year
We own a bouncy house...Parachutes are also a big hit...Also cupcake decorating stations....
If I were doing a superhero party I would do some type of obstacle course maybe (and they can "earn" their own personalized capes!) Or you can have a cape decorating table with fabric markers, foam stickers etc....
You could also do a scavenger hunt/treasure hunt (find something to hide in the yard, like an egg hunt but with something superhero'ish (maybe something to resemble kryptonite, maybe even ring pops or rock candy sticks)

rent a super hero. the vendor on here does it, and its not bad as far as pricing goes. I looked into it for DS's birthday for October.

OMG you HAVE to come to the nabe and go to the super hero store!!!!!!
you will find a ton of stuff for Michael's party!!!
you could give out "rings" like the Justice league and capes would be so cute.
I think the obstacle course is a great idea. and maybe some sort of "strong man" contest....
you can make a pin the tale on the donkey poster but have it be...Save the damnsel from the falling helicopter
something like that.
be creative!! what a cool theme.

Oh wow, great ideas!
I love the parachute game, obstacle course, decorate your superhero cape and strongman contest! I also found a Heroes vs. Villains silly string spray fight game, where you break up the kids into two teams with two different color sprays and whoever empties out more string spray on the other team wins! LOL
I'm definitely getting a superhero to come in and do a magic show, face painting and balloons...Since its a backyard party I think I'll give the kids the option to either have hot dogs, burgers or pizza. In addition to the cake, I'll also make sure to get Superhero ice cream pops!
Jess, gotta check out that store! Whats the name of it and where is it? Maybe I can shoot over there during my lunch break one day.
Thanks!

I think it's the Super Hero SUpply co. or something like that.
it's in Park Slope, on 5th ave bet. 6 and 7th streets I think.
I took some of the How's there after brunch one day. it was so cute!!!

Just had Darlene Graham perform for DS' 2nd birthday party this past weekend and she was awesome!
Here's a cute blog about a Super Grover party that has cute ideas that could work for super heroes... Super Grover Birthday Party
I found it while searching for ideas for DS'. I loved how she made capes for each kid. You can do it so much simpler if you want and if you give each kid a cape and some kind of mask to decorate, they can spend all day running around playing super heroes. Get big cardboard boxes, like fridge, stove, etc and make them into buildings to go in and around.
I did a simple "photo booth" for DS' party with simple props and big frames and it was a blast. I'm still editing some fun stuff to the pics and hope to post some soon. You can put up a blue sheet, tape some paper cutout clouds, put a stool in front and have each child lay on the stool to look like they are flying! Way fun!
