Playgrounds can be dangerous...
For MOM!!!
I took DD to a small playground yesterday for a few minutes while my parents were adopting a cat from the town shelter (it's all in the same park)...
There was a wavy tunnel there and she headed straight for it...I was crouching with her for a few, then thought "I'll go to the other end and see if I can get her to crawl through"
So I got up, and walked briskly to the other end (I didn't want her to walk away)...I failed to notice that above the tunnel was a bridge-like thing that created an archway...it stood about 5 feet.
At 5'5", when I walked INTO the steel bar, it snapped my head back (I actually heard the bar going "bonnngggg"...I managed not to pass out (though I have some pretty serious neck pain today)...but all I could think of was, what if i DID knock myself out??
As I crouched at the end of the tunnel, trying to put on "happy face" for DD, and self-evaluating to see if I had really injured myself, I just kept reviewing how the playground was gated, so DD couldn't get out, there was another woman there that would hopefully call for help, and my parents were only across the parking lot, and would be coming soon...I was more scared for DD than for myself!!
Anyway - thanks for reading, and watch out for those playgrounds!!

Re: Playgrounds can be dangerous...
I remember almost passing out after I had foot surgery. I was home alone with the kids. I still think that the thought of them being alone & scared is what kept me conscious.
Maybe we can get you one of these for you: http://www.onestepahead.com/product/osa/148756.html
