ds gets something similar - but it gets badddd and swollen and hot to the touch. originally we thought it was a reaction to an antibiotic he was taking and then he got it 6 months later after being on no meds. ped finally said it is a "viral rash" it usually subsides in 2-3 days and we usually lotion him up during that time b/c his skin gets tight and swollen in the areas where he has the rash :--(
So sorry for Landon!! Hope he is all better tomorrow!!!

DD had a rash that looked like Landon's and we were told it was Viral????
She had a fever too.

Ryan had a fever for 5 days. Then broke out in a rash exactly like that - took him to the ped and it was 5ths disease/roseola. Nothing too terrible. Once the rash broke out he was no longer contagious and the fever broke.

DS just had something similar...rash on both stomach and back and moderate to high fever for a few days. Ended up being Coxsackie.
Hope Landon feels better soon!

it might be roseola? the rash comes after the fever breaks. does he still have the fever? dd had this at 8 months and she had a high fever, it spikes, never came back, and the rash came out. no vomiting though.
This is what I was thinking! Hope he feels better soon!

I hadnt thought of that...
My eldest daughter had Scarlet Fever too...years ago...yes the rash is similar!

Its totally what DS looked like when he had Roseola. He didnt have vommiting though and he developed the rash AFTER his fever broke. Im sure its just a reaction to something thats no a big deal. Hope he feels better.

OMG I know 3 people who's kids had Roseola past 3 weeks and DD just had it recently.
Just looking at pics it does look like a roseola rash . But normally with roseola there is no vomiting and they get a high fever for 2-3 days and then the fever breaks and that's when the rash appears. But who knows. Are his lymph nodes swollen? check base of his head,his neck and under his ears. Also look at his eyes, are his eyelids kinda reddish and puffy? high fever ,swollen lymph nodes and red puffy eyelids are the signs of roseola. I hope whatever it is it goes away soon and London feels better

Looks like coxsackie/roseola/5ths
That's the same rash my kids had with it. They spiked a really high fever, then woke up to this the next morning.
Hope he feels better soon : )

It could be the way his body is reacting to the fever. My daughters have gotten rashes several times from fevers (this is usally how I know they are sick - a rash develops first).
Also, if he's on an antibiotic, he could have an allergy. Try giving him some benadryl.

He is totally fine today! It must have been some kind of 24 hour thing.
No fever since 4pm yesterday, and the rash was gone this morning when he woke up.

My kids broke out in similar rash a few times, the ped told me that many types of viruses will result in this type of rash- and with a virus unfort. an antibiotic wont help.....but of course id take him to the dr anyway....good luck!
