Please help...car insurance related...

Sometime last night a huge star-shaped crack appeared on my windshield on the passenger side. I called Geico, I have glass coverage w/a $500 deductible. They said to pay out of pocket. My FH, my coworker and my boss said this is a non-deductible claim and should be covered regardless?

Any ideas? Who is right or wrong?

It is only covered regardless if you have full glass coverage on your policy. If you dont then i advise you see how much it is to replace the window and since ur deductible is $500, i would just pay out of pocket

Should be cov'd under your glass coverage which then in turn means FULL coverage and no deductible

Well if you have full glass coverage then you are covered and do not have to pay anything. i would call Gieco again and ask another representative!

I agree- although honestly, it isn't a lot of money to get your windshield replaced- maybe $150 for a car- and th ey have places that come to your house, place of business...

is the crack smaller than a dollar bill?

if it is, it's really cheap to get fixed at SafT Glass.

I have full glass with GEICO and have had two cracks fixed there for $0

Yeah - I was going to say it's more in the $300 range to get it fixed.

I had Geico with full glass coverage and had to replace both the front windshield and back window of my car.

Full glass coverage means you don't have to pay anything - you may have to pay out of pocket and then submit for reimbursement but, if you use their recommended vendor (Safelite I believe) you shouldn't have to pay.
