OMG I am so sorry that this is happening to your and your DH. My mom has Crohn's disease and if the disease isn't horrible enough --- to have to go through this. I will be keeping him in my prayers for a speedy recovery.
Can you FM me with the name of the doctor who did this? I want to see if it's one of the docs that my mom has been seeing. She's been seeing a LOT of docs lately because of a series of surgeries she's been having because of crohn's complications.
so sorry to hear this. I too have Crohns and just recently had a resection.
Please don't let the surgery scare you. If it's done my an excellent surgeon the complication risks go way down. I have had colonoscopies and one of the risks can be intestine punctures..it's rare but it happens.
Concentrate on keeping him comfortable until the fever breaks and the antibitoics have gotten the infection under control. Once that happens he will feel better and then you can talk about next steps.
This really is a difficult situation to deal with but keep asking as many questions as possible and I would demand to see him sooner. What is this 2pm visiting hrs thing? I've never heard of this. Is he in ICU?
