Please recommend family friendly beach vacation spot
We're looking for a place to take the kids for a few days this July. Must be ocean and preferably have a pool and be dog friendly. Four hour drive max. Town suggestions? .

Re: Please recommend family friendly beach vacation spot
ocean city NJ? its probably 4 hours or so drive. its very family friendly. its a "dry" town, so theres no bars or liquor stores in the town (although you can pick some up right outside town! LOL ) So that helps keep a lot of the "jersey shore" element out of there Theres also a nice boardwalk with rides and games and yummy boardwalk food not far away is the Cape May zoo, which is free...

Wildwood or Diamond Beach. Tons to do. But I am not sure about the dog part- I know they rent out a lot of condos etc- i am sure you can bring a dog to those

Thank you. I wasn't sure where we could go to spare the kids of fist pumpers.

haha yup!! I'm NJ born and raised... i completely know what you mean!!! We go to the Outer Banks in NC to avoid it! LOL
i haven't been to ocean city in awhile, but i hear its still a nice family spot Long Beach Island (LBI) is nice, too. no boardwalk there, but theres a small amusement park/ water park, and its pretty low-key

Re: Please recommend family friendly beach vacation spot
I went to Sea Isle in NJ last year just for the day when visiting friends. And thought it was a great place for families. I definitely want to go back.

Yup, it's adorable and VERY family friendly but there aren't a ton of places to stay so it gets pricey.

Yes we go every year and LOVE it and it's not expensive. We stay at Sea Colony and its the best of both world's between a house rental and a hotel.

Re: Please recommend family friendly beach vacation spot
Sea Isle City is just south of Ocean City NJ Avalon is also supposed to be nice Cape May
LBI
Most of the fist pumping I believe is in Belmar - Sea Side areas
I believe Wild Wood may have a bit of that but I think it is also pretty family friendly
If your family is young, you will likely be asleep before the real party begins....

Re: Please recommend family friendly beach vacation spot
If you want entertainment and a lot to do, I would go with Wildwood. We have been a couple of times, its clean, fun, not wild. Morey's Piers are immaculate and full of rides and waterparks. If you want to just sit on the beach, I would go with some of the other recommendations like Bethany. When I looked, there isn't much to do there.

I agree. I didn't find Wildwood to be filled with clubs, jersey shore dudes etc. I mean maybe at night, but we went to the Pier/Boardwalk/rides during the day and even early evening and it was all families, etc.
You can also go to the Cape May zoo while staying in Wildwood- it is amazing and FREE. It has a playground too.
I love Wildwood
