Please recommend your white noise machine
I'm looking for one with actual white noise...not so much the nature sounds.

I have thin one by Conair - it has about 10 different sounds, one is actual white noise, but there are also nature sounds. It was about $15 at walmart. It also plugs in so you don't have to worry about batteries, and has a volume control and a timer so you can make pretty loud if you want and have it turn off after 60 minutes. I think it's great for the $$ and I wouldn't dare put DS to sleep without his white noise.

That's funny that you posted those two because those were the exact two I was looking at. I found the Marpac on sleepwellbaby.com first then saw it on Amazon...then the Conair one was on the also bought list.
I think i'm going to go with the Marpac...it has better reviews.

We just use a fan on the floor in her room, since we didn't want any nature sounds either. We already had it so it works perfect for us.

The white noise for DS is his humidifier. I figure, kills 2 birds with 1 stone. Works great.
