please tell me about your transition from bottle to sippy

DS currently uses a sippy, but still gets 3 bottles a day of milk. I am thinking about getting rid of the mid day bottle...do I still give him the same amount of milk (6 oz) but just in the sippy? I am assuming that just b/c I am trying to get rid of the bottle, I don't decrease the amount of milk intake (currently he gets about 18 oz. of milk and 4-6 oz. of water a day).

Ale didn't like the sippy for her milk. So when I cut out the middle bottle she just didn't get mil mid-day and never missed it.

I just cut Kristina down to only 1 bottle per day.... her nighttime one.

When I gave her the sippy in the morning with her milk the first day..... she was Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

But now - about a week later.... she is finally used to it, and understands (at least I think that she does) that there are no more bottles during the day.... only at night.

It did take her a while to get used to the milk in the sippy - but that was my own fault. I warmed her milk always, and it took her time to adjust to cold milk in her cup, KWIM?

Peyton is 11 months and about 3-4 weeks ago, one day I just switched her totally to a sippy in one day except her bedtime bottle. She was fine, she could have cared less. We are using a beginner sippy cup.

Funny, my DS was born 3 days before yours. We just weened him off bottles. It went very smoothly.

We tried several different sippys. We weened him off one by one. First we stopped the morning bottle and gave him a sippy Then the lunch, after that the dinner one. The hardest one was his late afternoon, but we were able to get him off.

You can also try sippys with a straw which DS loves.
