Please tell me that feeding her solids gets better. Moms with DC who didnt like solids please come in.
Paige does doesnt like anything other than cereal and that is still very difficult for her to take to it. She has been on cereal and veggies since she was 4 months and I hate when i have to feed her food. She hardly opens her mouth. Sometimes she does but only 30% of the time does she open. When i try to mix fruit or veggies with the cereal she will hardly eat it.
She shuts her mouth and grunts and whines. I try to play games with her to make her open up but it doesnt work. She is 5 1/2 months. Is there anything i can do or do i just have to wait until she is ready to really want it.
Also, the doctor said i can give her water and she doesnt want that either. If i put it in a cup or sippy cup she will but she wears most of it.

My daughter hated being fed. When she was old enough for finger foods that she could pick up herself like cheerios she finally started eating solids without a struggle. That was at about 9 months.

5 1/2 months is still young- DD didn't really like food and open up to take it in until the beginning of her 6th month. I am sure she will eat when ready.

She's probably not ready..I notice Ds was ready whenever i ate he would lick his lips as if he wanted to eat, so watch for signs.

She might be a little too young. My DS was the same way, but then once he got the hang of it there was no stopping him. It was like one day he just decided to eat. I forget exactly how old he was, but definitely older than yours before he really wanted it.

When I was feeling patient I'd try to feed her. When I wasn't I didn't.
I'd always split the jar at the beginning of a feeding so I could try the other half another time to make a bit less waste.
If I found something she liked (it was gerber prunes if you'd believe it for a while) I'd give that every day. She never took to the cereals.
Its all for practice at this point, not nutrition. Breastmilk or Formula has the baby's physical needs covered.
