Please tell me this is not common practice
I went to BBB today to get some things for DD.
I was in the "feeding" section when i saw a mother and her infant by the pacifiers. The mother was taking the pacifiers off the wall, opening up the packages and giving them to her daughter. If her daughter didnt like them, she would wipe the nipple off with a wipey and put it back  there was a whole pile of pacifiers on one of the shelves!!!!!!! 
So naturally I said something b/c umm that's GROSS. The worker was like so they went over to her and told her she had to buy the pacifiers regardless.
The thing was there was like 6 other people in her area. NO ONE SAID ANYTHING?!?! W TF
So then I thought maybe I was wrong and this is standard for choosing pacifiers
I was mortified

I am picturing this scene in my head and laughing out loud! Some people are so ridiculous! That's like trying on underwear and putting it back if they don't fit right!

First, she put them her daughters mouth, what if someone else did that before her? then, she just used a wipe to clean them??

I'm so glad you said something.
That's almost as bad as when I was at the Westin in St. John and saw someone take off their kid's diaper and then "dip" the child's butt in the pool to clean it off.

I wish people could have seen my reaction. I was just standing there only a few feet away, STARING at her. Then i looked around like "Doesn't anyone else see this?!?!?!" with a confused look on my face

Ewwww! Um not common practice, and I would have said something too. Some people just like to mind their own business so that is probably why they kept quiet, but you did the right thing.

first of all, this is why you have to BOIL them first, bc people are disgusting zoo animals.
but also, how can you tell if the baby likes it from one suck? LOL
what a wierdo, glad you said something and I am making a mental note to boil everything TWICE!

Wow, what cojones on her! I've never heard of anyone doing this, so glad you said something!
I HAVE encountered a lady at Rite Aid using a nail clipper from the bucket of nail clippers that are loose to cut ALL her nails and watched her put it back! I went right up front and told on her too! What gross people out there!
