Pls recommend your convertible carseat

That is not a Britax.

This is for my cousin - she's having twins.

What's the next best brand safety-wise? Evenflo? Eddie Bauer? I have no clue!

THANKS!

Also - if you could include how much it was!

We have the Eddie Bauer and the Comfortsport. Honestly, I like the Comfortsport better and it was cheaper (of course it is in DH's carChat Icon )

The Eddie Bauer was around $179 (I think, my parents bought it last Christmas) and the Comfortsport was $79.

Before we got our Britax, we were going with the Evenflo Triumph. DS was just on the bigger size and we would have to buy another one in the long run.

It has great reviews on safety

We have a recaro and so do a few of our friends and we love ours - it has true side impact like the higher britex models, and we compared it with the britex and tried DD in both - she actually liked the padding better. It is cheaper than the britex but when we looked that wasn't a consideration. They have a high weight limit too.

Re: Pls recommend your convertible carseat

we have a recaro (about $250) and a graco comfort sport (less than $100). Recaro is definately safer in terms of side-impact safety. However, it is BIG. I have a hard time seeing over it when I drive sometimes. Plus with the side-impact panels I sometimes find it hard to get DS into the seat without banging him everywhere. I don't have those issues with the comfortsport. However, I do have a lot more peace of mind when he is in the recaro. But that's a relative statement. I like the comfortsport too.

The recaro looks nice - but since she's having two babies she wants to try to keep the cost under 200.

Diana, they are on the top 5 of safest seats ratings.

They are good carseats.

We did not get one because DS was tall and after talking to a staff person at BBB, we concluded that DS "might" outgrow that seat before he was old enough to go to a booster. So we got the Britax.

Otherwise, I would have got them.

Re: Pls recommend your convertible carseat

One more question about the Evenflo's - I see that there is Triumph Advance Premier, Deluxe, LX --- which is the most popular one?

Sorry for so many questions - I'm a Britax girl Chat Icon
