Re: Poison Ivy remedies?
When I had it really badly last year, somebody mentioned Listerine and I couldn't believe that it actually worked. I was so scared to put it on, because I thought it would sting. It was actually very soothing and I smelled like fresh breath all day long

The only way for it to spread is if you are in contact with the oils - wash absolutely everything you wore, used and touched when you came in contact with the oil (and make sure you use gloves to handle what you are touching).
As for remedies, DH has been battling it for weeks. The only thing that really helped was a steroid (dose of pills) from the Dr.

When I was 13, I unknowingly came in contact with a Poison Ivy vine. First I noticed a rash on my stomach...the next day I woke up and my face was so swollen..I was red everywhere.
My mother took me to the Doctor - they had interns come in and look at me...because they never saw poison ivy so bad.
I was on prednisone for 10 days after that. Sometimes steroids are the only way.

Me too. I had to take Prednisone to take care of my poison oak.
Clean everything you may have touched with rubbing alcohol. Door knobs, lights switches, faucets, etc. It will stop it from spreading.
