We bought a "cosmetic fixer" house. So, we have stuff to be fixed (like most houses on LI which are at least 50 years old!) but the house is really sound.
Same here...and I love it. I don't know if I would classify it as a "dream come true" but she's been really good to us and we've been having fun fixing her up

So far, a money pit!
We bought in Jan, havent even moved in yet due to the work being done. I just got a call that my DH who is doing the work, just broke out Anderson Sliding door due to some wood that shot across the room into the door 
Now we need a new back door!
Its always something!
Im hoping once all set and done, we can sit back and enjoy it for AWHILE!

I voted a dream come true...our house is not perfect but we are very lucky to have it. It's a nice size, nice neighborhood...but it does have it's problems. Only 1 bathroom, old pipes, flooding in the basement  So now we are thinking about remodeling or maybe moving now that we know exactly what we want.

I'd say I'm somewhere in the middle. I wouldn't call it a dream, but I don't feel like I'm in the money pit.

Ours is a dream come true!!! We bought it before property prices in our neighborhood started to go sky high (the one across the street, which is smaller went on the market at 3 times what we paid for ours, and in the end the couple didn't move because they couldn't afford anything else) We have done lots of different kinds of things on it over the last 7 years, and it still need a new bathroom and some other stuff done, but all in all...we bloody love it!!!

I wouldn't say its a complete dream, but its been good. Having rental properties has been a little tougher but still been more good than bad.
