I wish I could have! The godfather of my oldest was so honored to be chosen and he has been such an active presence in the lives of BOTH my sons. He adores them, spends time with them, revels in their successes and helps them through their disappointments. He constantly says "My Godsons" - including my 2nd even though TECHNICALLY Noah's Godfather is someone else.
I love the godparents of my 2nd son - but they have kids of their own and other godchildren and although they are always around they don't seem nearly as invested in the role. But I think that is typical for most Godparents.
Back to the original question.. I had to choose different godparents for fear of insulting people. It's retarded social politics.
