I do them more than I get them done. I will pay for a manicure every other month to maintain my nail shape and have my cuticles pushed back.

i get my nails done at the salon for special occasions. i keep my nails short and bare minimum color do to my career.

I always do my own nails- mani & pedi. The only reason why I've gone for pedi recently is because I can no longer reach my toes :/

I do them myself.
I don't trust that anything in any nail salon, cheap or expensive, is properly sanitized...and I'll be damned if I get a nail fungus just for the sake of vanity. Blech.

I think I have gotten maybe 5 manicures in the last 5 years. I prefer the way they look when I do them myself and they last longer.

Always myself except if i have a special occasion and I want shellac.
Vacation, wedding etc.
But 9 times out of 10- I do it myself. I don't have the time to go every week and they chip in a day anyway so it's a waste of money.

Same here, I've just read too much (some on this board) about salons and I'm just grossed out.
I will NEVER EVER get a pedicure in a nail place again. I got a fungus that took YEARS to get rid of. My toe nail will never be right again. It's truly disgusting.
