Other.

Started off with a "starter home", but decided to add an addition to it to make it into our "forever" (or at least until DC go to college) home.

This is what I did! I'm not moving even though my kids will be finished with college and married soon!Chat Icon

Our forever home would be considered a starter home.

Im not sure-

i voted forever home bc its big enough, in a good SD, etc. but its not my favorite layout, so we will either extend it or move down the road.

This is what we're planning on doing as well. We bought a "starter home" that can eventually be converted into a "forever home".

We did the same...we bought based on a neighborhood we liked. The only reason we would sell is if the area changes drastically.

starter.

we fixed it up nice but it doesnt change that fact that the layout is dated (small living room, formal dining room and separate kitchen...i really want open floor plan) and the size is small.

it is also an older home so it has its issues.

in addition, it is not in the preferred school district, so i would be shelling out $$ for that if i stay here when i have kids.

i could live in it forever if i had to- but i realllly want to upgrade- and soon - while the prices and rates are favorable.

I am ok with losing a little $ on this house to get into our forever house

Ours could go either way.

Same with us. We bought a starter, but lots of people in our neighborhood have expanded. The origional plan was to stay for about ten years or so, but we'll see. A lot can happen in a decade...

Our house was a starter hoping to have children, but since we can't have any, we decided that this house is big enough for both of us and in a few years we are going to buy a condo down south to be closer to his daughter and family then when we retire that's where we will be going.
