I saw people repost alleged FB claims that this happened a few weeks ago. I don’t believe random people’s FB posts. I tried to fact check, but found no additional information to back them up other than someone else posting that they knew someone who knew someone who had a similar experience.
Regardless of whether or not that is the case (which I doubt) this virus is real. Numbers are increasing everywhere and are starting to increase again slowly but surely in NY.
I agree. Although I do find it interesting that LI is the only place where numbers are significantly rising, especially in Suffolk County. And close to half are under age 30. I hate to generalize, but I am livid at these young people who all had a grand old time at 4th of July parties, and now they are ruining it for everyone else. Suffolk county had more positive tests yesterday than any borough of NYC...and their population is significantly higher.
I live in the capital district and numbers are rising here as well. The Mohawk valley region had numbers rise a week or two again. It is not isolated.

I think I am still not understanding? If you haven't been tested then how are you positive? Are they getting a letter in the mail?
Yes from the person I know. How many others are getting these letters that aren’t being tested?
But if you were never tested, how do they even have your information to send you a letter saying you are positive? That is what I'm confused about
This person had an appointment to get a test. He did not have the time to wait (think she said it was way over an hour). He left. He then got a letter in the mail saying he was positive. They had all his info but how could he possibly be positive without taking a test?
That is really really bizare!

Re: Positive Results without a Test?
Wasn’t something similar happening in NY at the beginning of this whole problem? Ppl were getting diagnosed based on symptoms only?

Positive Results without a Test?
Well I for one am very relieved to hear that this is all just a big conspiracy and the virus is nothing to worry about.

Oh wait, so the person never saw a nurse or a dr? I thought maybe that person was diagnosed based in symptoms, not by test. Oh then that’s def weird!

I thought I read an article where it was stated 100% tests were positive but it was an error they made.

Well I never said that as I have friends in FL who do know people who truly have it. The negative results or no results being put in as positive is something to worry about IMO.

The letter is my childhood friends BIL, whom I do know. Other friends do know people who have Covid at the moment so my point is that, yes, there are many positive cases but the results that are being put out there are probably not all true.

Hmmm haven’t heard of this story but you can’t be positive without a positive test so I’m kinda confused??[/QUOTE
Exactly. I have a long time friend whose BIL went to get a test as a coworker was tested positive. The wait was way too long so he left. A few days later he received a letter saying you are positive. How the heck can you be positive to a test you never took. Pretty sure this was the site someone said a relative also was told that.
Everyone seems to know this guy. The same story is being posted by so many different people - and its my friend's cousin, or my friend's coworker, or the sister-in-law of my best friend etc. Seems like a big rumor that many people are running with and have no ACTUAL, first hand knowledge

Who says they are not? Maybe that is possibly why they are questioning all the positive numbers now.

This is why I'm starting to think it's a huge mistake to open schools. Do we really think most states Dept. of Health are ready to handle the huge amount of testing, reporting, and contract tracing involved is going to happen accurately?
I am thinking more towards less people have it so we do need to open as are they inflating numbers to keep us shut down longer? Are the ICU’s in FL Covid floors or are there many other reasons and are surgeries still going on down there to increase the amount of beds being taken?
No one seems to ask these questions and just take their word about numbers.
Let's say this is actually happening on a large-scale basis (It's not) - who would this benefit? Do you really think that the government wants everything to stay closed for no good reason?
Also, it has been widely publicized that Quest Diagnostics has said that their turnaround time is now at least 7 days due to the surge around the country. Some labs in New York have been able to keep their turnaround time to about three days. With such long delays in test results, contact tracing is basically useless.

Um I have not heard one case on the news of someone saying they got test results back that were positive and yet they have never been tested. I would think at this point someone would have spoken out.
I find it very very coincidental that FOXNEWS all of a sudden found these discrepancies in FL, where we know has not been following guidelines at all and then you now have the President of the US demanding that hospitals now report data to his administration and not the CDC. All sounds like one big eff cover up.
Oh last week the increase of positive tests were coming from people from across the US border......you know those really nice people helping us to build that wall.

show me ONE example of the ACTUAL person this happened to coming forward. It's all my friend's friend's husband. My kids best friend's uncle, etc. Have not heard one first hand account of this, yet "everyone" seems to "know" someone this has happened to. Sounds like one big giant rumor to me
