Take two tylenol and relax for a minute. If you have more than a headache or a bad premonition...then leave. Get on the train, subway, bus...yada and go home. Trust your gut

Re: Possible Gas leaks in the city...
tons of people are calling into Fox News to let them know what they're smelling. Some offices are still deciding what to do, go home or stay...

Just on the news (ABC) they are starting evacuate Midtown buildings. They have yet to say which ones.

My DH works at ConEd at 49th St. in the Substations and I just called him but he hadn't heard anything about it yet and said he'd check their website.

I think you have to call, the PATH to 33rd Street is stopped. I don't know about the LIRR.

Re: Possible Gas leaks in the city...
the buildings should shut down the fans and HVAC systems until they know what it is - it not that cold out, and all that stuff is getting sucked into the building
DH just went to the roof (he is downtown), all is clear but if he smelled the faintest odor they were shuitting down til it was confirmed. BTW, he heard it from Howard Stern and was calling me to get the hub-bub.

Medical Complications/Symptoms
Exposure to natural gas reduces the blood's ability to carry oxygen. Although there is no fever, the initial symptoms associated with dangerous levels of natural gas exposure are similar to flu-like illnesses. These symptoms include:
dizziness fatigue nausea headache irregular breathing
just for info!

Re: Possible Gas leaks in the city...
I'm on Wall St. and I didn't smell anything but I rushed in and out everywhere b/c of the rain.
Now my mother just emailed me about it.

The buildings did shut down the HVAC systems, our building did and our security guy said all the buildings in the area have. Its so stuffy in here though now. and it smells like gas
